Merry Christmas

From the Earth Images blog, I wish everyone a happy Christmas.. There is nothing better than celebrating the birth of our Savior, and having a festive time with friends and family when we do it.

I noticed as local (Chicago and Milwaukee) TV stations carried tree lighting ceremonies, those trees were never once referred to as Christmas trees. Only holiday trees. So much fear and bigotry. For centuries one of the great aspects of Christmas was that it went beyond those who celebrated such for the religious aspects, as we got together regardless of belief, and had fun while practicing the gift of giving and love. That background of giving comes from Jesus, and three wise men as well

Nobody seems to mind Christmas enough to reject a day off with pay.

My memories of this great holiday are happy ones, and I certainly hope that yours have been as well, and will be again this year.

Enough reflection on the world, let us be cheerful and celebrate what for eons, has been a time for joy.

Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and we will call Him Immanuel. (Immanuel means God with us)

Isaiah 9:6
6 For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

The two verses above come from the Old Testament. Many, many years before the New Testament verse below, and the birth of Jesus. Amazing!!

John 1:14
14 The Word (meaning Christ) became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I wish for each of you and your families, to have a joyful and special Christmas! A time to forget our differences, and remember what is truly important.

Peace on earth, goodwill to man, and joy to the King!!
