The Keeper of The Faith

Having faith, has never been a strong suit of mine. I am by my nature, a “show me first” type person. I border on cynicism.

As a small child, much like any “little one”, I generally had faith in what someone did or said. I think that by the time I was four or five, I began to realize that what a person did, or what they said they would do, often didn’t hold up to scrutiny.  I still had faith in my parents and my teachers, but as for the world in general, my faith was fading.

As time went on and I began growing up, I often shook whatever faith that those around me had in me.  I did so more than a few times. I was just like anybody else, faith in me had to be used with caution.

God was just beginning to become something more than an abstract thought to me, but it seemed as though He could be trusted. Then as I grew and watched the world around me, I sort of blamed God for the actions of people.

I was in my late teens before I came to the decision that people had free will. God was good but He seemed “apart” from everyday life. I held that belief because it allowed me to write my own destiny, and make it all up as it suited me. I could sin at will, because God was sort of a witness but not a judge.

I was wrong.

Day by day, month by month, and year by year I began learning what our relationship with God was. How He dealt with us.  I am still learning, but I get closer to the truth, each and every day.

Much of the Bible is dedicated to the subject of faith. As I previously indicated, faith, has always been a difficult road for me.  I had needed it spelled out for me. Like in a book. I now can see beyond the edge.

While my faith in man is often still shaky, my Faith in God is irrepressible.

The Bible verses below, are each in their own way, about Faith. There are many more in the Bible.

God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

All God’s creatures are curious. I believe there is a reason for that.
