Spiritual Metamorphosis

Caterpillars are slow, awkward critters, who seem to have no purpose
other than to eat. To fill their own bellies. They seem to move at
about one fraction of a millimeter an hour.

That caterpillar has not yet realized its purpose on this earth. It is
only in the first stage of the “process” that it is meant to fulfill.
It is an example of metamorphosis. A journey of change, given by God.
The act of becoming another creature, or in the case of humans, a
whole new soul.

Eventually, the metamorphosized (not an actual word) caterpillar will
not only sprout wings, it will fill the summer skies with beauty. It
will also collect pollen from one plant, and impregnate others with
its cache.

When the caterpillar becomes the butterfly, it helps promote life on
our planet by mating, and creating new caterpillars which will
transform into more butterflies, producing more life via that transfer
of pollen. It will propagate by fulfilling God’s plan for it to do so.

We all have a journey and a purpose. God has a plan for us too. Like
the caterpillar we often seem slow and selfish, but in the end we can
do God’s Work by promoting the knowledge of eternal life, which was
gained only by the Sacrifice of His Son, Jesus.

As the Father is God, so is the Son

We need to honestly accept, the change (metamorphosis), that God asks of us.

There are things that every burgeoning Christian should consider. I
was that person only a few years ago, despite to some extent, being
brought up in what passed for a Christian church.

If you believe the Bible is merely a “nice book” that’s has  some good
things and some bad things, or you think it is at best, irrelevant, or
at worst evil, then you need to study a good version of that book, and
do so behind scholars/preachers/pastors who know and teach the truth.
Many, likely most you will find, do not qualify. Just because one has
memorized and can spout scripture, does not make what they preach the
truth. It merely shows they have a good memory.

God (The Father, The Son, & The Holy Spirit), the Holy Bible, Satan,
and both Heaven and Hell, are all real. They are not just part of a
“interesting story”.

Begin with that, because if you do not believe those truths, than why
would you or anybody even want to go through what must to you  be
meaningless ceremonies in fancy buildings called churches.

A belief (or a church) that is “Christ centered” for Salvation, but
also understands that the Father and the Holy Spirit are the one God,
is necessary if you choose to attend church.

Step by step, one day at a time, the Bible’s meaning will become not
only apparent, but absolute.

Begin communicating with God, via prayer, today. He will Love you, and
Bless you beyond your dreams. One only needs patience, faith, and to
have the will to learn.

When you truly understand Salvation, and Jesus’ role in that
Salvation, and you accept (it is completely up to you) what He as done
for you, and you communicate regularly by prayer, your life will get
better. In my case, I am talking of genuine miracles. A
transformation. In other words, a metamorphosis.

As long as we are on this earth and in this world, our journey will
not be flawless. Mine certainly isn’t.

We are plagued by a sin nature, and if you feel yourself being
co-opted by that nature, pray to God for help. Own up to it, confess
it, and move on. God Loves  you and wants you to succeed. Be sincere.

It is an incredible journey, don’t miss out on it. He, is waiting for
you right now.

Below are few Bible verses I enjoy.  They were not chosen specifically
for today’s post.

First we have two significant verses about the most important things
you and I can do. That is to know God and become saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your
own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no
one may boast.

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would
draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those
who seek Him.

Next, about being filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 4:31 – And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they
were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,
and they spake the word of God with boldness.

1 Corinthians 12:13 – For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one
body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free;
and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Romans 8:9 – But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be
that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Verses from Jesus

John 10:27-30 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow
Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave
them Me (notice it does not say, He gave us to Him, but He gave Him to
us), is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My
Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.

Mark 8:34-37 And when He had called the people unto Him with His
disciples also, He said unto them, Whosoever will come after Me, let
him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever
will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life
for My sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall
it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own
soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

John 10:10, 11 The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that
they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good
shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love
thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and
pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

The above verse is one I struggle with daily. That is natural. Praying
for them (enemies), and wishing them to find God, does not mean you
have to accept hateful, selfish words or deeds from others. You can
fight back and state your reasons. It does however mean, that we need
to want them to find what we have found, and have peace and joy
through God.
