Journeys

One of the greatest aspects of nature photography, is that the only true way to accomplish it, is to spend copious amounts of time out of doors surrounded by, you guessed it, the natural world. Every time we walk out the door, camera in hand, we continue our relationship with God’s gift to us, the natural world. Photos or not, we cannot lose when we study subjects that are not of the human realm.

Today’s photos belong together primarily because they are in fact, that of the natural world.

A high wired act. A Kestrel on a wire.

Birds are natural subjects. They just can’t help themselves.

Okay, if you’ve been here before you know I have a never-ending love of sunrises and sunsets.

Some of my favorite “critter” subjects for my cameras were insects up close and personal, as is the case with this little dragon fly.

Ahhhhhhhh, the butterfly.

Another favorite subject of mine was that of lizards. They not only make good images but they pose for those images as if they were being paid. Truly, I think curiosity is what drives them.

Back to the birds.

Every kind of pose imaginable.

A wave crashing over some rocks was to me, absolutely a subject to be photographed. This is a Lake Michigan wave. Some would say, boy a lot of your “water shots”/ were of that lake. As I write this blog post, I can stand up right now and move the blinds and curtains in front of me, and see that beautiful but sometimes nasty bunch of water. It has been a “main course” if you will, for lakes, storms, waterfowl and other subjects, for a long, long time for me.

Let us finish with a bit of greenery, with a tree trunk and a few flowers. I would not be surprised, if the first subjects for cameras, in particular during the age of color photography, was that of flowers.

I thank God for all of my journeys into nature. Especially those with great friends. Ron, Darlene, Kristen, Phil, Celest and others. I thank each and every one of you, for those times of adventure, learning, and friendship.

I do wrestle with the question of when even one more post from me, would be one too many? I have enjoyed these many years very much, but there is an end to such things. I still enjoy doing this but really, how many pictures should one share? How many times? How many words can one person write?

Maybe the real question to ask is, how many times can someone ask these sorts of questions?

I have shared here personal information from my past, that I likely should have buried there……in that past.

In recent times I have stayed away from politics but certainly “amped up” my Christian related thoughts. They are the most important part of this blog, and if only one person ever gained anything from them, it was worth doing it.

I ask these questions yet one more time, because they are the most important .as I have said, and I feel I must find the answer before I make any decisions.

In the end, one too many, is just that, too many

We will see.

May God truly Bless each of you,
Wayne
