Without Principle

Below are my opinions and observations.

I need to take a moment and talk about something political. I am attempting to write about that subject less these days, but things just keep popping up that I feel the need to address.

I am seeing some things on social media, especially Facebook, that amazes me. I am seeing liberals criticizing conservatives and Republicans for supporting Donald Trump. By that I mean, they are generalizing their criticism, towards conservatives and Republicans, as if we all have supported Donald Trump. They of course, are very nearly all supporting Hillary Clinton.

Excuse me!!!!! Have you (liberal Democrats) had your eyes and ears closed for these past many months? This man is the presumptive Republican candidate for the presidency, and many, many, many of this country’s leading conservatives and Republicans, oppose him. Despite the fact that we are guaranteed, the absolute nightmare of a Hillary Clinton presidency instead. This is unprecedented in this nation. Six of the nation’s non office holding top Republicans, including two ex-presidents, have attempted to promote a third-party candidate, against their own party. Leading conservative and Republican minds such as George Will have resigned the party. There are major Republican current office holders not supporting the Republican likely nominee. The much hated (by the political left) conservative talk radio hosts are 90% against Donald Trump, and most have been since the beginning. Now compare your party to that.

I’m still waiting for the day liberal Democrats (at least one) will put their principles ahead of their hatred and thoughts of self. Just win, that’s all. It’s hard to count on principles that are not actually there.

The amount of conservatives in this country who outwardly and vocally oppose this candidate is not only unprecedented for either party, but under current circumstances should put liberal Democrats to shame. It is showing once and for all, who practices what they preach, and who does not. Who is principled and who is merely a predator of any circumstance to win. Win with anybody regardless of character, as long as you win.

Remember this, the recent primary elections in most states meant that anybody can vote for either candidate as long as you remain party loyal to one side, for that one election. I know of Democrats who voted for Trump. A few were blue-collar Democrats who are tired of anti-American Democrat socialists, who stand for “maybe” one position that they agree with. Most however were crossovers simply trying to help Hillary win the general election by making Trump the Republican candidate.

As an aside, the super-delegate system for Democrat primaries, is rigged beyond imagination. There was no reason to even hold those primaries, as Hillary had already been chosen as the Democrat candidate.

I had someone once ask me why I called it the Democrat Party, instead of Democratic Party as most of the world does. Firstly because that is the name of the party, and secondly because there is little that is democratic about the party, or their plans for America.

You have the most dishonest, most hypocritical candidate in the history of either party. Yes I absolutely include Richard Nixon in that appraisal. If she is competent, and that is a big question, she is a criminal. She made millions of dollars while she was Secretary of State, hawking money for the “Clinton Foundation” from Arabic countries. Most estimate the total at 150 million dollars. If any of you, seriously thought that the FBI, who answers to Barrack Obama’s Attorney General, was ever going to find anything criminal in what Hillary Clinton does, then you need an education. We already know that the IRS, and at least some local prosecutorial offices in America, do the political bidding for Democrats.

Have you not realized, that Ms. Clinton has been kept away from the general public for this entire political season. Her handlers know only too well that an inquiring public will ask her questions she cannot, and will not answer. Even her press interviews are done with a “friendly” questioner.

If you’re over the age of 30 do you not remember those papers subpoenaed by a special prosecutor during her Hillary-Care, First Lady days, that were missing for two years, and then showed up (redacted) on a table in the White House. She said they were forgotten there. For two years, in plain view, on a table in the White House. She is a pathological liar. She even told us that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary because of his climb up Mt. Everest. The problem is, that happened after she was born/named. This is the lady who gives campaign speeches about economic equity in America, while wearing a $15,000 jacket.13557865_1281491375230432_6729158289046947434_n

I’m not interested in arguments from liberals on who’s worse, Hillary or Trump. This is about who supports who and how low you will sink. The entire point is, many of us are refusing to back or vote for Donald Trump, based on the principles of right and wrong. American liberals need to learn to look in the mirror once in a while.

Thought provoking reading

I can’t speak to the accuracy and “do ability” of everything Governor Abbot says here. My education tells me that his take on the states and the Constitution are correct, and his ideas are worth reading.
Texas Governor Greg Abbot is calling for a Constitutional Convention of the States to bring Washington politicians back in line with the rule of law, and the spirit of the Constitution.
If you are unfamiliar with what a Constitutional Convention is, it’s pretty simple. Article V of the Constitution makes it clear that Congress has the power to amend the Constitution by adding Amendments. Most people understand that it is Congress, and not the president, no matter how mighty his pen or phone may be, that writes the laws.
In addition, however, Article V also gives the same power to amend the Constitution to the states. The states can convene, propose an amendment, and as long as there is a 3/4 agreement from the states, that amendment shall be ratified.
The reason why this power of the states, although it has yet to be used, was added into the Constitution, was to prevent an out of control national government. Many of the Founding Fathers recognized the power that a centralized government could grant itself if left unchecked, and so provided an outlet for the states to decentralize that power. Governor Abbot said,
“The increasingly frequent departures from Constitutional principles are destroying the Rule of Law foundation on which this country was built.”
“We are succumbing to the caprice of man that our Founders fought to escape. The cure to these problems will not come from Washington D.C. Instead, the states must lead the way.
To do that I am adding another item to the agenda next session. I want legislation authorizing Texas to join other states in calling for a Convention of States to fix the cracks in our Constitution.”
1.Prohibit Congress from regulating activity that occurs wholly within one State.
2.Require Congress to balance its budget.
3.Prohibit administrative agencies—and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them—from creating federal law.
4.Prohibit administrative agencies—and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them—from preempting state law.
5.Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
6.Require a seven-justice super-majority vote for U.S. Supreme Court decisions that invalidate a democratically enacted law.
7.Restore the balance of power between the federal and state governments by limiting the former to the powers expressly delegated to it in the Constitution.
8.Give state officials the power to sue in federal court when federal officials overstep their bounds.
9.Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a federal law or regulation.

This non-photography post will be moved shortly to where I keep all such articles. They can also be found  via a search in the rectangular box at the right side of this post.

Next time, photography, Wayne
