I am at times surprised how often on Facebook and other social media I find people quoting Bibles verses. This is something that was rare, but is getting more common. I would love to think it shows us that more people are coming to the Lord, and of course accepting Jesus. I really think most social media verse publishers are already born again Christians who realize that Bible prophecy is occurring in front of our eyes. Nobody but nobody knows the exact timing of these events, and the Bible tells us that. However, we are also told we will know the season. That means that even if you had no calendar to tell you it was October, you would see the leaves changing and know that autumn is upon us. The signs that the season is changing in the Biblical sense, are all around us.

Most often the verses chosen by people are used so they might inspire us and make us feel good. Those are important verses (when they mean what you use them for), but you can never expose the whole truth without telling all the sides that are given to us. The whole Bible is important, not just what we might want to select to make us feel good for the moment. That’s why all of those “other” verses are there. They are all there to educate and uplift us in the truth about God. When you understand the whole story, you will understand the Goodness of God.

There are many difficulties coming in the days ahead, and the prophets of the Bible, armed with power from the Holy Ghost, laid them out for us so we will know. Prophets like Ezekiel, Daniel and John deal with “the season” that we are in, and what’s to come.

There are also some telling Words in ll Timothy 3:1-9

1 This know also, that in the last days (In certain respects, that’s right now), perilous times will come. (There will be perilous times for Christians in the days that lead up to the Rapture of the Church. Right now there are Christians being persecuted in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, each and every day.)

2 For men (He is actually speaking of Christians here), shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. (Does this sound anything like today?)

3 Without natural (real) affection, trucebreakers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good. (Does that last phrase sound like today?)

4 Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of (earthly) pleasures more than lovers of God. (Once again remember, this speaks of the end-time church with all its worldly ways and corruption).

5 Having a form of Godliness (in other words, they put on a good show, with no substance), but denying the power thereof. (The modern church [not all], in the truest sense has denied the Cross and through that, they have denied the Power of the Holy Spirit which is where the Power resides)

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses (false teachers), and lead captive those laden with sin led away with diver’s lust. (Many will succumb to those teachings)

7 Ever learning (false doctrine), and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as James and Jambres withstood Moses, so do you also resist the truth (they have been shown the truth and have purposely rejected it; it pertains to a rejection of the Cross of Christ): men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the Faith (faith in anything other than Christ and His Cross, is corrupt and reprobate).

9 But they shall proceed no further (there is a limit to how far God can allow this to go), for their folly shall be manifest unto all men (their error will be seen for what it is because the true Gospel is more powerful), as theirs also was (Referring back once again to James and Jambres and how they attempted to withstand Moses).

It always pays to remember that the vast majority of the Bible is written for believers (Christians). Believers are supposed to take The Word of God, and its message, to the unbeliever.

If I may sidestep into politics for a moment. Isn’t it funny (or not so funny) how as the world we live in has slowly (from mid 1960s through today) embraced liberalism, and their socialistic system that they say will create love, peace, harmony, prosperity and equality, how the world has actually become more selfish, egotistical, dishonest, phony, pornographic, violent, greedy, has seen increases in child molestation and sexual slavery as well as hard drug use, and has become a promotion for me, me, me. There are only a few nations in the world right now (Israel), that have a stable and vibrant economy, and the United States, is not one of them.  We are in hock to the rest of the World, including communist China. It is not surprising that at the foundation of this journey to the political/social left, has been a shunning of God and a Creator. This is what always happens when man fancies himself as the top (god?) of the universe. It is also not surprising, that this was foretold in the Bible over 2,000 years ago.

That question to non-believers and believers alike is often, if all that is happening today is prophesied in the Bible, and the Bible is The Word of God, and it will come to pass, then what’s the point of doing anything. That’s not only a good question, it’s one I would expect anybody to ask, and I have asked it myself.

The answer is always in the Bible. That answer is that we are told we should always fight the good fight. The righteous fight. It defines who were are. It makes us in the image of God. Wouldn’t you rather be defined as good, instead of evil. It is God’s desire (command) we do so. Every non-believer who turns away from what they are now and accepts what Christ did, has a chance for salvation. You can be a part of helping that to happen, only if you are willing to fight for right.

Ultimately when you accept Jesus Christ and what he did for you, confess your sins, and walk with that knowledge, even with sin (confessed), our final destination and existence, will be glorious and perfect. The goal is to bring everyone we can to that place, and the peace that it provides..
