The greatest gift ever given to humanity was the birth of Jesus Christ. At least that was the case until we were given the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We need saving. You, me, everybody. The question becomes, what have you done with that gift? We need to accept that gift. We should absolutely embrace it. You play a role in your Salvation, even though it’s existence was a loving gift.
The gift.
Man and God as one (Christ), took our punishment for us, and offered us an eternity with God, rather than a spiritual death, and a literal hell called the Lake of Fire. That terminology for that location, is not symbolism. His Blood is our cleansing agent. It and only it, will wash away our sins.
While the Easter holiday has pagan roots, its meaning today of the Resurrection of our Savior, is beautiful, powerful, and can be the “saving grace” that we all need. Historically, the number of people who actually witnessed His torture, His death, His placement in the tomb, the boulder removed from the tomb in three days, and the tomb empty, as well as the forty days He again walked this earth before He fully rose to Heaven, is astonishing.
There are atheist historians today who admit that the aforementioned is fact.
One thing everybody in this world can agree on, our time here in this portion of life, has an expiration date. None of us are getting out alive. Our bodies will cease to hold life. History proves that.
Eternity is a long, long time. Even though we make many mistakes while we’re here, we can have an eternal life of love and perfection. The Lord is waiting for our commitment, so we can spend eternity with Him.
Instead of thinking of that day as Easter baskets, fancy hard boiled eggs, and chocolate bunnies, take time to remember what God did for us, via His Son. Salvation and an eternity with our Savior is ours if we sincerely ask.
He has Risen
Matthew 28:5-6
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He laid.”
1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Rom. 6:8-11
“Now if we died with Christ, we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died in sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
At Jesus’ second coming, the righteous dead will be raised to life and taken up to Heaven along with the righteous who are still alive on the earth. (Born again Christians)
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together (the much argued about Rapture) with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
John 51 I am the living bread which came down from Heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
