What I Think

I am sure some of you are saying, who cares what you think. Fair enough. Everyone should have a forum beyond the zoo that is social media, to share their thoughts.

I haven’t “blessed you” with my opinions concerning politics recently, so I will do so now.

I am glad to see President Donald Trump (yes it is appropriate to refer to former judges, justices, mayors, governors, and presidents by their former title, for life) speaking publicly, and commenting on our future. Including the future of conservatism and the Republican party. No, I never believed he would begin a third party. That would weaken the entire movement. Conservatives would be out of power for 30 years or more without a strong Republican party.

I also agree with one of his comments at a recent gathering, stating that we must get rid of the RINO.  That means “Republicans In Name Only“. Legally and via the vote of course.  Like never before in history, we need right of center politicians and otherwise, to stand for law and order, the right to life, our Constitution, freedom of religion, and other such things. They need to be steely and tough.  Like some insects and snakes, unfortunately many on the right tend to “eat their own”.

That said, I know for a fact, that my version of a RINO is different from many others.  I know because I read their opinions on the internet daily.

Caring about the long term economic health of America, in other words the size of our budget deficit does not make one a RINO, it makes them a conservative. There are many on our side, who claim a love for the Constitution, but in reality are just the mirror image of left-wingers who only want that document adhered to when it suits their purposes.  Caring about the constitution only when it suits you, is not being a conservative or a Republican.

Just because someone is soft spoken and polite does not mean they are weak.  We need all types of personalities in this movement in order to attract a wide variety of new people to our side. You need not fart, scream and swing from trees scratching yourself to be one of us.  We want everyone to agree with and support this movement,  but to contribute via our differences.  If all of us voted on the demeanor of candidates, Trump would have never been elected.

Everybody, every one of us, is wrong sometimes.  People who have important jobs need to have others around them, who have the wisdom and the courage to let those important people know when they are wrong. Sometimes a few hard truths can keep a leader from using misguided tactics. Every great leader has had some people around them, to speak the hard truth when necessary.

The conservative movement in America, belongs today, thanks to Donald Trump, mostly to people who talk the talk, but they also walk the walk.

I know not what the next few years will bring us. Little to nothing good if we do not find a legal, court approved way, to curtail voter fraud, and stop illegal immigration.

For those of us who are on the right, there a many lessons to learn from those on the left.

They organize at the grassroots level, and never give up. They take their battles to the courts when they have to.

We need not give up honesty, integrity and common sense, or lower ourselves to violence, except in self defense. That we will leave to the other side. With that said, they have something to teach us about never giving up. So far, only a few on our side, most notably President Trump, have that never say die attitude.

“You are as young as your faith, or as old as your doubt”. General Douglas MacArthur

Psalm 23:1-4

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your Goodness and Love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Remember, Jesus died for us so we could live for Him.

God Bless and keep the faith,
Wayne
