Photographing the animal world, is not just about getting a recognizable image of this species or that one. It is also about where they live, and what sorts of behavior do they exhibit.
Below we have a male Greater Prairie Chicken, dancing in hopes that a female will mate with him. This was made in northern Wisconsin.

Sometimes it is about what sort of dwelling do they take, or as we see below, do they make?
Now if I only knew what bird built this nest.

Mom and dad with babies, will sell for sure.

Once in a lifetime.
One of several images I was able to make in my one and only opportunity with a Badger.
This was made in north central Colorado with my friend Ron.

Nice poses always help, but of course that is up to your subject.
Below we find a Brown Thrasher.

Riding the surf!!

There has been some interest in my recent blog where I wrote about the journeys of nature photography with my friend Ron and how I would never trade them for anything or anyone.
I did have a weakness that drove me out with someone else. My weakness for pretty blondes. She and I had some great journeys as well, be they were mostly close to home.
Pal Ron, or pretty lady? Sometimes in those days I was weak of character.
We are only afforded a certain amount of time on this earth. As a photographer, documenting anything, including natural history, go after it when you can, and share what you find with the world. I loved getting my mages published, and selling art to others. With that said, even if I made my images only for people I knew, or even for myself. the adventure and the power and beauty of what you find and photograph, are worth it, regardless of the end result.
Now, I haven’t offended anybody yet today, so here goes.
Words mean things.
I was just watching the news on TV. Some horrifying stories were told about a Iouple of pregnant women and how they lost there unborn babies. If they had decided to abort and kill them for convenience, those babies would cease to be such, and then would become merely a fetus. The same babies. Human beings in one case, just a ferus in the other.
I often wonder which part of the human world decides that killing a person who cannot fight back is terrible, and which part decides for us, that baby killing is good, as there is one less person occupying the earth.
Yes it is true, I am a man. Let us say the male of the species. I cannot carry (internally) and give birth to a baby, so it is none of my business.Right?
Wow, human life and its value, is only the business of a selected group. I guess many of us, can have no part in this.
I have confessed and written on these pages previously, that in my teen years, my girlfriend got pregnant and she had, very much with my approval, an abortion. A legal abortion.
Yes, I was relieved.
Relief, is not in and of itself, a good thing. Evil can bring relief as well as goodness.
You say I am a hypocrite. Only if it is hypocrisy to improve and get better.
To grasp morals I once tossed aside.
As always I must say, that if the mother’s life is in danger if she would deliver, of course it is then proper to save her life, even if it means losing the child. You do not save a life by intentionally letting the carrier of a life, die.
Now there, I have made half the readership angry, and pleased the other half. This particular post, I found exhausting to write.
I know, poor, poor me.
Let me say, free speech is always in danger and on the edge of going away.. Understanding who stands for that right, and who wants only speech they approve of, is extremely important.
I will now make a few more angry, while pleasing hopefully the majority, by saying may God Bless each and every one of you.
All of you!!!!
