A Moving Target

Every time I think that at the very least, I should slow down greatly when it comes to publishing new posts on this blog, I come across this image or that one, or I have this thought or that one, and here I go again..

A moving target is is hard to hit, so let us start moving. .

I love photographing water on the move. Falling, drifting, splashing or any other form of movement. Waterfalls and river rapids are an outdoor photographer’s dream.

Nature, usually as given by God, is my primary subject on these pages, but once in while, man creates a spectacle worth photographing.

Coming soon at a location near you and me, is a spectacle that we call fireworks. They are generally worth the effort to snap a few pictures. One such experience is below.

In your face!!!

When we use our own eyes, to look into the eyes of wildlife, there becomes a lasting kinship.

Close-ups of insects can require a slow advance on our part. They are worth the effort.

Three from the realm of landscapes. All are western .U.S. images, made in various forms of beautiful light.

Finally, let us wrap things up with a macro of a fallen feather. Once again, light is important. When light comes from the side, it creates small bright spots and dark spots, which give the finale image a sense of texture.

One thing about photography, to suceed, you need to sometimes “color outside the lines”, so to speak. Make straight up honest images, but do so in an unorthodox way. Be different than the crowd. Be a unique composer. Raise your head up. It pays.

I am fairly sure that there are some readers of this blog, who wonder, where have all the politics gone on this site? They are possibly happy, but a few are not.

Politics is currently bubbling right under my surface. I am sure, that sometime soon, it will coming gushing out while I write. My views have not changed. They are both heartfelt from a moral standpoint, and a constitutional one.

I was going through a drawer in a dresser in my bedroom a few days ago, and what do I find, a Christmas card from many, many years ago, from what is now, my ex-wife. At that point, we were still married, but long separated.

Apparently I had sent her a birthday card (late November) and she was returning the favor. I likely thought, oh no, does she want to get together again. I knew I should have never sent her that card. I loved my wife, but we married as teenagers and I was at the time of getting the card, having the time of my life that I missed, because I was married so young.

It’s funny how time and living a life, can change things.

With thought, careful thought, I can again now appreciate what she did. I have metaphorically traveled a million miles since then. That included nearly marrying someone else,, also now, many years ago.

Marriage is a beautiful thing but some people, such as me, should never indulge in it.

The older we get, the more we know, yet, sometimes the more dysfunctional we can be in how we use all those things we have seen and learned about.

As long as we draw breath however, we need to use: what we have seen and learned in life. Not to brag or browbeat, but to set the record straight. That is especially important when it comes to the difference in right and wrong. Something that is presented upside down and/or backwards currently in this world.

God Bless,
Wayne
