Hand of Man

Today’s images are not really natural. Each has at least something in them that has been created by man, or has in them, man himself. While the title to this blog is Earth Images, sometimes the “human animal” can add something as well.

Creating images with humans in them, does not mean that nature, such as a lake, or a sunrise, cannot be a part, or at least the mood setter for the photo.

There’s no better time to fish, than at or around sunrise.

Of course, man created objects such as lighthouses, work nicely as silhouettes also.

Black & white is not truly natural in nature, but once again we see man’s handiwork near sunrise.

Stormy light in the background, and the late sun to illuminate this conservatory, created a mood that I could not resist. This scene was captured many years ago on film and then copied into digital about fifteen years ago.

Time flies.

Sometimes the combo of man’s work, and God’s light, can make for a fascinating abstract. This is another film to digital transformation. The barn was located in Tennessee.

There is always something to photograph.

Another man, nature combo.

The bridge, the cars, the roadway and the painted yellow line, all belong to man. The Bison are natural.

Even a dirt/gravel road in fall, that resides in a remote area of a Wisconsin national forest, is the hand of man. The colors of those autumn leaves are very natural, courtesy of Almighty God.

How perfectly placed by man, could this pretty little foot bridge be? The colors in this park “popped out” at me, and thanks to the act of photography, to many others as well.

Then there are buildings, that in and of themselves are art.

Once again, a lighthouse.

Have known photographers who would not “stoop so low“, as to photograph a lighthouse. Too corny and over done of a subject.

I always photographed whatever struck me, and at times, was paid for those decisions. Besides the fact, that when I was doing my best, I created images of anything that was photographically interesting.

Black & white, has its place with old buildings, such as the one below. Old farmhouses especially. This dwelling is in a medium sized city with other houses around it, but the location was a country farm back when it was built.

Yet another old country farmhouse, that eventually became city.

An old nineteenth century workshop.

Let us switch gears a bit. Railroad bridges are of course, manmade. I was on a cliff above the Mississippi River when this one caught my eye. The water you see is an inlet from the river.

To me, there is no better manmade subjects to photograph, than the oldest buildings we can find.

The San Xavier Mission in Arizona is what you see below. I waited for great light to create this image, just as I would do with a mountain or some other natural subject.

The Quari Ruins in New Mexico, are even older. Once again, nice light. The differences of warm rock and cold blue sky also create an appealing contrast. Also, the contrast between the texture in the rock, and the smooth sky creates an image that will “pop”, if you will.

So there we are, an entire post with all images of manmade subjects.

John 14:6
Jesus said unto him, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me.

God Bless,
Wayne
