Piecework Is For Thr Birds

The concept that the only way to make an image of a bird, is to show as much of that bird as possible, and the whole bird at best, is one I disagree with. .

No matter your purpose in creating images of birds, photos that show every bit of the subjects, as to create an ID for bird books, is only one way to go.

We do want those entire bird images, but not always.

Art for the sake of art is not only valid, but those tight shots of birds and other animals, also teach us things about the subject.

I would not trade this “partial” shot of this gull for anything. Tight shots that are also action/behavior images to me, are among the most powerful of all.

This close-up of a Robin mother and her begging baby, takes viewers right inside of their world.

Do take notice, I was a long ways from this mother and child, with a long lens and then a crop.

What better way to illustrate a Northern Pintail Duck, than t show it topsy/turvy? It features that pintail.

In some respects, this hawk’s stare at us, takes us into who it is, more so than a full body shot.

Even closer and more intimate we are, with this Snowy Owl. I have made many full body shots of Snowy Owls, but I would not trade any of them for this journey almost into its feathers.

Would a few more inches of body and feathers, make this a better photo? I think just the opposite. This brings us into what is almost a personal. relationship with this preening Sandhill Crane, without actually disturbing it.

I would not trade this “wing chopped” Red tail Hawk flight shot for all the 100% bird images that I have made..

Of course, full body shots, even with extra space around the subject, are nice too. As is the case with this male Western Bluebird.

Variety is the spice of life.

Getting back to partial subject images one last time, it is not only birds that make nice super close-ups. This female Snapping Turtle looks right into our eyes to tell us that she is neither fearful, nor impressed by me.

Poster Art

I decided to end (well, almost the end) today’s post with just a few “posters” that I collected in one short trip through X, once known as Twitter

A good deal of my life, there has always been someone, in the neighborhood, in school, at work or some place, who either indirectly, or straight out told me, I was different or even weird. That can hurt when you are a child just wanting to belong somewhere.

Growing up. makes it tolerable. I actually embrace it.

Those years were a long time ago, but today I give thanks to those kids and adults (pals, girlfriends, wife), because I can think of nothing I want less, than to be like the crowd. One reason that social media is only a once a week visit for me instead of three times a day, is that of course there are many good people there, but I really have no desire to “belong” if you will.

I guess I like being the consummate loner.

I will never be the complete loner though. God and family will always be there.

We live in a world that calls for equity. I do not believe in equity. It is used to mislead. I do however believe, with every cell in my body, in equality.

Equity states, we have this many job openings at company A. Therefore we need this many black people, this many white, this many yellow, this many red, and this many brown. Regardless of their skills, job history, or criminal records.

Equality states however, company A needs this many new workers. They cannot eliminate candidates because they are black, red, white, yellow, or brown.

All colors and creeds need to be considered.

I believe in the equality for everyone to search and to find the job or life you desire. Without forcing qualified individuals out, or keeping them away, because they do not match a number or percentage according to your self created rules.

That is also also called equaty.

Everyone should have a chance, and those who work the hardest and remain diligent, should get the job, regardless of color or anything else.

The workforce should be colorblind, and blind to other naturally inherited traits.

Equity is a form of false compensation and is racist, sexist and more.

Equality is essential that everyone has a chance, and should be guaranteed.

May God richly bless each of you,
Wayne
