Just some pictures and then a bunch of self-reflection today.
Leaving town?
Every image we make of wild animals, such as our national symbol here in America the Bald Eagle, does not have to be head on or profile.

Grebes are fun birds to photograph. They are always stretching or doing something that makes an image unique.

Let us study the land in this one. The location is Black Canyon of The Gunnison in the Colorado Rockies. This photo was not made from an overlook or a bridge. I remember making this shot years after I captured it.

A storm is coming. The Badlands of South Dakota. Mixed colors as we see the rock formation and sky in back of it.

A favorite Midwest location for me was the Mingo River in Missouri. It was good for riverscapes and wildlife.

Another favorite place for riverscapes, especially at sunrise, was the Mississippi River from the cliffs of the Iowa Bluffs.

The Northern Water Snake is a feisty, but nonpoisonous critter. I captured this one, photographically speaking, in Wisconsin at a marsh and after I made my images a government wildlife expert moved in to take a closer look at this fellow and was promptly bit. Fairly seriously I might say. He got in his vehicle and headed straight to the hospital. I communicated with him the next day and he said that he should be okay.

Even the scary parts of nature photography are rewarding.
Finally, coming soon to a woodland near you!

On to a subject beyond photography.
If I could stand outside myself, and watch me on any given day, I might say there is something scary about this guy. Now I am neither crazy or scary, but I do things my way, regardless of how the “world” might view it. .
My eating habits alone can be construed as odd, or as I prefer, unique. I chose this subject not because I thought anybody cares about by food selections, or when and where I eat them. It’s just that subjects like that, reveal more about ourselves than we might think.
I get up rather early, as old habits are hard to break, and then I eat breakfast. Almost immediately. My breakfast is either cold cereal, hot cereal, or a mixture of both, with a liberal (pardon the expression) amount of fresh fruit distributed in the bowl. The kitchen is typical and like all kitchens be there a separate dining room in the house or not, it has a table and chairs. That not withstanding, I eat standing up. It rarely takes me more than three minutes to eat, so sitting down is not worth the bother.
My lunch is a banana. Sometimes I might chomp down a small amount of apple sauce.
Nope, I not only do not sit down, I often just leave the room, banana in hand, and move on to do something else. The banana might be finished in another part of the house.
Now supper is different. Several courses and lots of food, means sitting down. Not in the kitchen though.
This old house was indeed built with a separate dining area, but that has been changed for years. Maybe a century.
I carefully make two or likely three trips up two flights of stairs with all my goodies. I watch TV and eat like a king. I immediately when done, bring all the dirty dishes or more likely disposable plates along with some actual real silverware, down stairs and take any throw away junk outside to the garbage/recycling area and clean the rest.
Why do I bore you with my peculiar eating and living habits? Because we are all different and most of us think that everyone else is at best odd, at worst crazy.
We all need mirrors. Self examination can be enlightening.
If you do not harm anybody else, or cheat them, or cause them consternation, being who we are can be important. Following the crowd does not enthuse me. I am 95% off social media because I want not to be a member of a group. I declare my independence. I prefer uniqueness over sameness.
The Trinity, is the group I seek out.
Whew, I am happy to get that off my chest, I say only somewhat in jest.
I certainly do not think that anyone cares about my personal eating habits. I write such because it helps to show that each of us, is unique and independent of one another.
That is good. There are too many “groups” in the world.
God creates uniqueness among His human, animal, and plant creation and more, presumably because He wants those things to be just that…..unique.
I speak not of people who cheat, hurt, kill, or do anything else that is hurtful, but I mean those little aspects of who we are that make us……..well, who we are.
The culprit who cherishes those things made of hate, which include physical harm including murder, is often called Satan. He “helps” create the pain and murder we see in society, as he has that power. He is for a time, the god of this planet. Ultimately, the true God gave us the ability to discern such things, and expects us to decide to do the correct and Godly thing.
May we all allow God to Bless us as He chooses.
Mathew 12:30
He who is not with me, is against Me, and he who gathers not with Me, scatters abroad.
Obviously if you are not with God (the father, the Son and the Holy spirit,) you are against Him.
My God (and yours?) and my relationship with Him, is not just about sharing His Word. It is about glorifying Him, as the God of all things. My or your rewards will come via the Blood of Christ and the “genuine” acceptance of it.
