We have all heard the saying that seeing is believing. In today’s world, when is comes to humankind, it is sometimes best not to believe too quickly. However as a photographer, “seeing”, is half of the battle. Followed quickly by doing. The seeing I speak of, is seeing with our mind, heart, and soul. It is not just about our eyesight.
When we look at a scene, or an animal, or whatever, we do not all see the same things,. While it might be wise to understand what this animal looks like, or that flower, our own personal unaltered interpretation of any subject, is what makes us unique. We are all different from one another.
I have had exactly one opportunity in my lifetime, to photograph an American Badger. That was years ago high in the Colorado Rockies, with my friend Ron.
I live in what is called the Badger State of Wisconsin, but alas Badgers are actually pretty rare here.

Sandhill sunrise.
Below we see Sandhill Cranes at first light. Included is a baby. The images were made at Horicon Marsh NWR here in Wisconsin.

This Muskrat was also photographed at Horicon

When I was out photographing the land in choice destinations, I would always find some sort of wildlife to photograph as well. The reverse is also true. I always recorded some sort of landscape photos of those places where I photographed animals.
Below is a simple shot of Horicon Marsh.

Back to the birds.
Male Pheasant and snow.

Hi honey I’m home with a snack. Male Osprey bringing home the bacon, or more accurately, a fish for supper.

Ah those prairie birds.

What surrounds a wild animal in your picture, and how you compose it all, can mean everything.

Dew and beetle.

Black-winged Damselfly.

Flowers, dew, darkness and a splash of sunlight in the forest.

I know not what this plant is. Still, I found it to be photogenic.

Blanding’s Turtle

Reeds and sunrise clouds in a pond.

Sunrise at Lake Michigan

Sunrise and a small inland lake.

Short-eared Owl looking mean.

Pied Billed Grebe at first light.

Snowy Egret with a fish.

As always, no matter what I was after photographically, most anything that came or flew into my picture frame, became a subject.

Galatians 2:20
I am Crucified with Christ, never the less I live. Yet not I, but Christ Lives in me, and in the life which now I live in my flesh, I live by Faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. (which is the only way I could be saved)
There is absolutely nothing, as rewarding as belonging to the family of God.
By our nature, we fear and we fret. To do so is a gift of God as He creates us with a natural instinct to protect others and ourselves.
No matter how bad it may seem to be, with God, we will also receive reasons to have joy and times to feel safe.
The only, I repeat the only road to peace and satisfaction , is via our Savior and our accepting what He did for us.
No matter how bad it is in this world (Satin’s world), a world of pure Godliness awaits the born again Christian. Acceptance and Faith brings forth an eternity of love, devotion, and satisfaction. There will still be turmoil in this earthly world, but only perfection in the next.

God Bless,
Wayne
