Mixing It Up

Firstly, I hope that all of you here in America, had a warm and pleasant Thanksgiving holiday. Such holidays bring back fond memories of my mothher and father. I wish they were here now.

I have for you a sample of varied subjects today. As I wrote in a recent post, my favorite subject is variety.

There is little to compare to the orange/gold/red colors of much of Utah. Those warm colors, laid against a blue sky make for a gorgeous contrast. There’ nothing quite like warm and cool visually living together. .

Of course, red rock and blue sky is not the only way to visually describe the American west.

The Colorado scene below has a “low color” phenomenon to it. Near sunrise, and very high up in the mountains leaves us with a touch of warmth in the sky, but with only a bit of blue on the distant mountains. This image has more of a moody effect than the others.

If every location and/or every image were the same. The life of a landscape photographer would be very boring.

Birds of a feather.

If it is variety you want, the category of birds, within itself, is a never ending story of variety.

Two male Ring-necked Pheasants out for a winter’s walk. These guys “pop” out of their surroundings.

A beautiful Redhead Duck male, in rippled waters which are reflecting the colors around it. You never know until you get out and look.

If memory serves and quite often these days it does not, this is a Merganser of some sort. It would likely be a male. The bluish, rippled waves around the bird, help to provide an interesting visual contrast (again) to the bird.

Snow Geese in New Mexico. There’s not a lot to say about this gang of identical appearing, but beautiful birds.

A striking male Blue-winged Teal and its mirror image. Still waters can provide for a photographer, a magnificent opportunity for unique and beautiful imagery.

?A young fledgling of some sort in my backyard.

A male Indigo Bunting looking for insects.

Now for a furry critter.

Here’s something that almost anyone can grab an image of. A Chipmunk.

A Damselfly for the files. A slow approach, and gentle movements can net you countless dragons and damsels.

Yellow and red. The sort of light and background you encounter on flower searches will help to wipe away any repetitive aspects to your images. In both cases below, we have a single blossom, with clean but different backgrounds, and warm but different colors for the flower.

Similar images can still be different.

1Corinthians 2:2
For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified

This was written by the Apostle Paul. There is only one road to Heaven, and the “world”, knows not the way. Once again, faith in Christ and Him crucified.

May God richly bless,
Wayne
