I have been blessed to have taken many journeys in my life. Some people take trips or vacations, I take journeys. There have been many differing reasons for those journeys, but number one was, to capture what I saw with a camera. Straight up, but in accordance with my own personal vision.
Some of my favorite journeys occurred within 20 miles from home. Occasionally in my own back yard. Very often, in marshes and woodlands within a short distance.
I speak here of the pursuit close-up or macro imagery.
There’s nothing I loved better than finding a dragon or damselfly posing and waiting for my camera, tripod and myself, so I could show you what I found.

Dew or raindrops on plants has always been a favorite as well. What you see below was more difficult to capture than an insect on a leaf. One breath of air, one misstep from me, or one touch from my tripod, would mean no picture today.

Little critters such as the beetle you see below, also make for nice recipients of dew.

Of course, we do not want dew on every macro we make. I believe that is a Goldenrod Spider you see below.

The journey below carried me from the inside of my house to my backyard fence. The bird is a male Northern Cardinal.

From my backyard to the wild west of Wyoming. This young moose was captured (photographically of course) in Wyoming “showing down” on some roadside bushes.

Away from critters and on to the land for a moment.
To me, light in and of itself is a subject. Of course, when the first or last light of day occurs in Utah, with rock and sky comforting each other, well that’s too good to find the words to describe the moment.
Journeys come and journeys go.

Red can be an alarming color in nature. The redness of a male Cinnamon Teal is exactly that.

Ready, set, go. American White Pelicans.

Among all of the Bald Eagle images I have shared in my life, the one below remains among the favorites of mine.
Notice under its left talon there resides a hapless fish. Dinner I presume. On its right ankle resides a metal band that was no doubt placed there by someone tagging eagles to aid those who track movements of such birds. Dinner and a purpose in life.

The job of wildlife photographers is not purely to share photos of cool animals, but also to track what they do, and perhaps why, so we can help them as a species for their future wellbeing. Also, maybe we can figure out why they do what they do.
A male Grebe and Duckweed. It almost appears to be a green carpet.

I can see you.
I have made many, many more images of Red Fox than this, most out in the open and clean and pure as photos go. With that said, I have always enjoyed this young Red Fox peering at me from within some foliage. He/she observed me for some time. I finished my work and headed home, when my subject headed over the hill to where I assume was mom and/or dad.
Some days are just good!!

Other days? Well, let us speak about other days.!
Many would say, that here in the US, we are engaged in an enormous political battle. A war of sorts.
I disagree. I believe all signs show that we are engaged in a great spiritual battle, even more so than political. It is not only here in America, but it is world wide.
It is a matter of action (vote) for sure, but it is just as much or more so, it is a matter of faith.
Meet God, and learn to trust Him, Prepare. What seems bad ,is sometimes good, and vice versa. ..
May God Bless.
