Hodgepodge

Today’s mixture of imagery, is indeed a “hodgepodge” of anything that popped up in my files.

I have shared with all of you my time of nature photography, auto racing photography, architectural image making and more. In reality, I would always photograph whatever I saw when I had a camera with me.

There’s nothing like a Snowy Owl in a snow covered field on a winter’s day in Wisconsin. It’s cold outside, but we can feel warm on the inside.

How about a late afternoon capture of some flowers and the Badlands of South Dakota?

Dragons, or better said, dragonflies, were one of my favorite subjects. I am not sure why, but I especially liked this particular “dragon specimen” on a summer day.

Of course, some Red Fox kits on a spring (April) morning is not something to sneeze at. I watched these two and their three siblings grow up in front of my eyes, and my camera.

Native American “rock art” in Utah. The carvings there ranged from very, very, very old as in ancient, to a few months. Every picture tells a story.

From the dragon, to the damsel.

A little dew on this damselfly helped make it “pop” if you will.

What’s so special about a few fallen autumn leaves? Probably nothing but it is good (I think) to recognize photos wherever we find them.

A deep (very deep) blue sky day in Utah. Contrasting warm and cool colors create…….as you might guess, contrast. Sometimes contrast is bad, but often it is good.

Colorful sunrises/sunsets can be gentle and serene, as much as they can be jarring. Mood is a large part of image making. At least to me it is.

Other stuff

There’s a country song that has been out for a few years now, that in its own way, is prophetic.

He sings that I’m not as good as I once was, but I am as good once as I ever was.

Whether he speaks from the perspective of a carpenter, a truck driver, a factory worker, a singer song writer, or he speaks of making love to his wife, he is stating that his stamina has died and gone away, but he performs as well as he ever has, but only once and then he is done.

H’s still good, he just needs a lot more rest.

Below we have a quote from singer/songwriter Bob Dylan.

“You Don’t need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.”

I guess he is saying, that some things are obvious. That’s a pretty generalized statement but at times, it is right on the money. Open eyes, and open ears, can tell each of us what we need to know, and it can do that without the aid of experts. It is especially notable in politics.

Mathew 6:19,20,21
Lay not up for yourselves the earth (everything on earth is temporary), where the moth and the rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal, but lay up for yourselves in Heaven (Heaven is eternal), where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through to steal, for where your treasure is, your heart. will be also.

God Bless,
Wayne
