Photographing sunrises and sunsets can provoke as many different moods as imaginable.
In fact, whether you photograph it or not, every sunrise/sunset brings with it its own feeling or atmosphere.
Whether it is a cactus filled desert or a Midwestern wetland, it can become a “window” to the shapes of an environment.
Below we see that even sunrise/sunsets can at times have an ethereal quality to them

The shapes of things were a large portion of why I made these early or late day images.
The crane below makes that point.

When there is very little light in a cloudy sunrise/sunset, any silhouettes within can be deep, dark and beautiful.

Then there are of course storms at both of those times of day.
Power can rule.

One of the secrets of shooting at the “magic hours” is where you take your .meter reading from.
A reading from the brighter portion of the scene, will cause darker more ominous results. A dark area reading will cause a more bright and ethereal mood.
You be the judge.
Revelation 18:11
And I saw Heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and He who sat upon him was called Faithful and True and in Righteousness He does judge and make war
12
And His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written that no man knew, except Himself.
13
And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in Blood., and His name was called The Word of God. (Jesus)
14
And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses clothed in fine linen.
The He, in the above verses is Christ. Those verses represent facts even though some of those things that will be seen at the time, are symbolic.
The real question is, how many who read this, and consider themselves Christian or affiliated to Christianity, snicker and smile and say well you know, you cannot take the Bible literally? They don’t really mean an actual white horse and so forth.
If the Bible straight up says a white horse, it will be a white horse. The symbolism comes in what does the white horse represent.
So I ask again, how many people who go to a church with a cross in it, either on Easter and Christmas, or every week, choose to treat the Bible as a Saturday morning children’s show, rather than the Holy Word of God?
Do you belong to a religion that treats Almighty God and His Word as if He is a religious version of Captain Kangaroo or Popeye the Sailor?
Do they only get serious about the things that they in their “infinate” wisdom, have decided to be real and important? Or when it is time for your donation?
There is much to ponder!
God Bless,
Wayne
