There are a lot of ways to make use of sunrise or sunset in a photo.

Certainly a stretch of beach, a peninsula of land, and a great lake (Michigan), presents viewers with sort of a dreamy kind of mood and atmosphere. Compositionally, leading lines are used here.
Craggy mountains, in shape, but without detail, creates only suggestions, and you and your imagination will fill in the blanks.

Leafless trees never seemed so delicate and artsy, as when we back them up with a red sunrise.

Signs of man can be interesting at sunrise. At least I found it to be true at a boat dock.

A swimming duck, might lack detail but gain a serene sort of beauty as it swims along creating a gentle wake at sunrise.

Sunrise/sunset can become bizarre it you will. Depending on what direction and angle it strikes your subject. How much light hits your subject, and how much remains in darkness. Then, what color is that light.
From geese to cactus, and from a pond in Wisconsin to a desert in Arizona, your images may appear more abstract than real.

Finally, a Snowy Egret pops out of the shadows as afternoon light separates it from the black water of darkness.

Moving on to other things
Whenever I was driving somewhere I always kept a portion of one eye (both can be dangerous) out along the roadsides for anything and everything that might be interesting or pretty. I no longer remember the specifics of what, where and when, concerning the image below, but I apparently found it to be an interesting blend of light, color and texture.

Finally let us end today’s journey with a happy woodpecker. Yes it was photographed at a bird feeding station at a local nature sanctuary and I was happy to be there, and happy to make a new friend as well.
There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of locations where man has made it easy to find and capture (photographically) our wild friends as they chow down. He was happy and so was I.

As I move farther and farther away from social media, this blog becomes my final “sounding board” if you will. I enjoy having a place where my words, thoughts and beliefs, are just that, mine. Selfish if you will. Also of course my images. Often they are old, but they are mine.
It is difficult to reveal who we really are in a social media format where 30 million people live.
We do get info here at Word Press on how many people visit each blog post. Nothing about who they are or where they are, but accurate in sheer numbers. A while back someone visited a page on this blog and then cruised through 27 more posts, I know nothing about them but it is likely that they are someone I know. Either way, a new friend or an old one, that is nice.
God Bless all,
Wayne
Luke 21:8
And He (Christ) said, take heed that you are not deceived, for many will come in My name, saying to you that I am Christ and the time draws near (the (for therapture of the church) go ye not therefore after them, be careful who you follow, (there will be and are deceivers as the Savior, or as His church)
