Wherever we travel with cameras, you will find different locations or views to “describe” where you are. Even within any given state here in America, the visual world will change. It is our job, to help the world to see and appreciate and enjoy the differences. To describe them with visions rather than words.
I have only lived in the central part of the U.S., and in the west. I have traveled, especially as a child, to most of America. I have made some photos in the south.
If the west is commonly known for its mountains and deserts, and it truthfully has much of that but also contains a varied landscape, you best come back with something that say yes, this is the American west.
Below, we have a touch of that.
Texas is a big state. It is visually the south, Midwest, and the west all packed into one gigantic state that is larger than many countries. For landscapes, I chose west Texas after doing a lot of wildlife photography in the eastern portions of that gigantic state.

I love New Mexico. Not only does it contain, prairie, mountains, rock forms and deserts, it is a great wildlife state and is especially good, and most people are surprised at this, for birds.
Today we’re here to examine the land in each selected area.

Colorado is rightfully known for its gigantic mountains. The Rocky Mountains. It does have deserts including the largest sand dunes in North America, and prairie, and rock formations.
Below I with share you small mountains, enormous mountains, and a high mountain stream.

In many respects, Utah and its Sandstone rock forms, is the most beautiful western state of all. Maybe the most gorgeous and geographically fascinating place anywhere in the world.

Wyoming’s legendary Yellowstone N.P. is not all about wildlife. There are scenic wonders there as well, and there is no time better to photograph those locations than at sunrise.

I have made a lot of images in the west and in recent times, I often forget (poor labeling on my part), where I made this shot or that one.
Below I have considered Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota and Washington State. I guess that means I know not where I was.
I know this, I would love to be there, wherever that might be, right now.

We live in a precarious world where it is important who we believe and do not believe. The Bible, a good Bible that has well translated scripture, is the one thing we can count on. When it is not bastardized by man as in a religious pseudo pretense of the truth.
Translation from Hebrew, ancient Greek, and Aramaic, does afford “some” different words as it is changed into English and dozens of other languages. Good, honest translations are essential
The verse below gives us some unique translations but follows the meanings quite well.

An example in the above is His “one and only son“, instead of His “only begotten Son“. I think anyone would say that is a perfectly acceptable translation.
The most important aspect of the verse above, is that the truth of Salvation rests in its words. The Bible iis replete with that message.
I am sure I needn’t state how bad the crime issue has become here in America. It’s made worse by the fact that we rarely put criminals in prison anymore. Do the deed today, back on the street to repeat before the day is done.
An exception was made in Washington DC when a woman was given a two year sentence. She was guilty of praying in front of an abortion clinic.
While our “rights” to steal from and hurt others are being upheld and fortified in our legal “justice” system, our rights to pray to God are being stripped from us.
May God Bless,
Wayne
