Made by Man Again

I have written on these pages many times about why I have had so much love for nature photography.

Much has to do with the incredible atmosphere or mood that is provided, not only from subject to subject, but by the time of year or even the time of day.

Created by God!

I have found that things created by man, remembering that he/she was created by God, also carry with them mood and atmosphere.

If God creates those things, and God created man,…well, you get the picture.

So therefore, today’s images will be subjects created by people, via the vision that God has provided to man. I have photographed buildings including modern skyscrapers, but alas, I love the mood and atmosphere (there I go again) of old buildings more.

Below we find two different Native American ruins (three photos) found in the state of New Mexico. I truly do love New Mexico, for its natural environment, or that which was created by the first Americans.

Angle, shadows for texture, and the color of light matter here just as if they were mountains or rock formations.

The shapes of man’s “stuff” is often created for a purpose. Such as a viewing platform in a state park. Add sunrise, and we have a silhouette. Shape rather than detail.

How many different ways can you photograph a lighthouse?

Different seasons, times of year or day. Differing angles or perspectives. Very different light. They all bring different moods and atmospheres. Something that the photographer in me lives for.

Just like with nature, some subjects just cry to be captured in black & white.

I found this early 20th Century school house to be more fascinating on the inside than the outside.

Sometimes composition and selection of such, is artistic, but often it is intellectual. I learned that in school.

I love old ships, but I have found, just like with old trains and farm machinery, quite often piecework makes them even more interesting,

Of course, boats in action, especially modern ones, with humans aboard, can become a play of cool and warm colors together just as any subject can. No land in sight.

On this Memorial Day weekend, let us remember those who died so we could live.

Freedom, always comes with a high price.

May God Bless,
Wayne
