This is very much a wild Badger. In some ways, this is a favorite of mine just because, well, you don’t get many chances to pull the camera trigger on this species.
I live in what is called the Badger state, but I made this image with my pal Ron on a trip to the only other state where I have taken up an “official” residency in, Colorado
We Had about ten minutes with this fellow, and he/she would come out to get a look at us, and then go back in. He/she repeated this several times. .Most of the photos we captured were done so when were out of the car within a few feet from the sy subject.
This was fairly high up in the mountains on a little dirt road.

This bear cub is not a zoo shot. It was made in northern Minnesota.

These two Bighorn Sheep were photographed in Wind Cave N.P. in South Dakota, I do believe. They were not very active, but always take advantage of every opportunity.

That park is close to South Dakota’s most famous place, The Badlands. I first visited this place as a child and I never lost my love for it.
I always shoot under many differing light conditions, using as many different angles as I can. I also have been there so many times that there are not many rock forms that I have missed.

Yes, as many of you know, I love amphibians, and reptiles, especially snakes.
The Fox Snake image below was made in Door County, Wisconsin, as I and my partner taught a photography workshop. I could only get one participant to make pictures of this beauty if memory serves.. My partner also abstained.
Vertical was the only way to shoot this. It posed for maybe five seconds,, and it vacating the premises as I made this shot.

Of course, if you know me, you know that dew covered webs are one of my favorite subjects, Great animals and spectacular locations mean a lot, but do not pass by what might be at your feet on a morning walk. To me, they are all of equal value.

May God richly bless each of you,
Wayne
