The Spice of Life 4, Variety

I may not be featuring birds anymore, and variety is the spice of life, but I also never intend to ignore one of nature lovers or photographers, favorite subjects.

This female Bunting put on a show of poses for me, and I took advantage of it, and when she moved on I did as I always did, I thanked her.

This hawk seemed almost regal as it sat on a signpost and stared at me. Once again, thank a and on to my nest subject.

This colorful little male Eastern Bluebird retuned time and again to feed his babies. He worked hard and seeing his lady did all te birthing work it seemed only fair that he did more of the feeding.

The venerable Roadrunner, no not the cartoon, and a roadside (appropriate) area in a New Mexico wildlife refuge, made for a useable backdrop for my photos. Beep, beep!!

Male Belted Kingfisher. As was always the case for me with these guys, I used my car as a blind, and that was good enough for my subject.

Let us finish birds, with a photo that has no real detail. Who says you cannot create silhouettes with birds and other wildlife?

The bird is actually able to be identified by its shape. It is a Northern Shoveler Duck.

Variety, is the spice of life.

There is nothing better than a car blind for Cottontail Rabbits. I have also had much success that way with jackrabbits.

Spiders were one of my absolute favorite subjects. Add a little morning dew on the web, and I was ecstatic.

A clean background helps with this sort of image.

One compositional technique for flowers, at least for me, was often to capture tack sharp the closest blossom, and let distant blossoms fade into a blurry jumble. That gives you identifiable and enjoyable clarity on the lead flower, while depth is created within the borders of that image as our brains interpret the soft blossom (s)

The simplest things in nature, can make for a photo that to some degree, makes a statement.

I was doing close-up work with a small woodland of evergreens. I saw the sun begin to creep in among the trees, and it created this magnificent group of shafts of light. Almost, as if from Heaven.

The American west and early/late light, are a natural combination. It takes already beautiful subjects, and makes them spectacular.

These west Texas cacti, and rock formation atop the hill, were bathed in the morning light.

The next two shots of some rock forms and a natural arch, were both made in Utah. The state of richly and warmly colored sandstone, and great light.

The first was created in Monument Valley, and the next in Arches N.P.

Finally, not far from home, if memory serves me, I was driving towards home when I spotted this planted Sunflower field, as storm clouds and a mix of light hovered just above them. I jumped out of the car, after stopping if of course, and with tripod and camera began interpreting and photographing what was before me. The richness of the varied sky and light, to me, made those Sunflowers unique and special. I also feel that the low angle I photographed them at, helps the overall image also.

May God richly bless each of you, as He has me,
Wayne

John 8:24
I (Jesus) said unto you, that you shall die in your own sins, for you believe not that I am He, you shall die in your sins.

Philippians :10
That At the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in Heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth. All should bow to Christ.
