Just Rambling

Once again, a post as been converted into a strange series of giant bold and small text. In will either fix this or move on to another location,

A little bit about everything today. Sort of whatever came to my “somewhat” vertile mind.

One of the things I enjoy about old TV shows and movies, is the snapshot in time that they provide for us. By that I do not mean the cool old cars or even the way they dress or keep their hair, although I love all that too. The snapshot, is what people watched back then for entertainment and how that defined them. This is what made people laugh or cry. This is what scared them or gave that warm fuzzy feeling inside. What was watched, defined who or what we were. For the good and the bad.

Want to know how we got where we are? Look at where we’ve been.

On current TV, every generation of TV programming as well as old movies are accessible every day, and that “snapshot” is there to ponder.

I will and do watch, westerns and dramas (I have always done this with comedies), from each and every time period in television history, no matter how bad some seem now. I love it. In fact, in some ways. The worse the better.

In many respects, with those earlier shows, no matter the camera work, sets, or the acting and plot, there are things to learn about human decency, a helping hand, and doing the right thing that we could use in our “viewing diet” now.

I need now to mention to any of you who get my posts via email. If the order or neatness of text and images is rather disheveled and inconsistent, it is not of my doing or those who provide this blog. It goes out in an orderly fashion which is reasonably nice and consistent. I have actually finally realized the email provider and the specific computer, phone etc. in use, matters.

Now you knew you were not going to escape my religious tidbits of the day. Did you not?

One of the great stumbling blocks in Christianity, is the mixed messages and shear division among Christian churches and individual Christians that we see in the world today. It can be confusing.

Man loves creating his own religion. It seems the easiest way to do that, is to add or subtract to a belief that is already in existence.

Salvation comes from a belief that Jesus died to take our sins on His back. The “sinless one” took our sins and our punishment so we could be justified as Holy.

In many respects, who and what we are or have become, begins its test after we accept Christ not before.

Each of us will stumble, and sin again even after being given the gift of life. God of course knows that. Asking forgiveness is a daily exercise for me, I am ashamed to say. That said, it is better to know that taking God’s name in vain, and then begging forgiveness with a contrite heart as to become clean again, than to simply accumulate sins, is necessary.

Salvation is simple as in not complicated, but not easy.

How we walk and how we talk is a part of what a Christian is. I often forget that. It is not a case of we are saved so let us not sweat the little things. Once you are justified, there are no little things. Jesus cares about the little things too. As I said, sometimes I forget that.

=========================================================

Most of you know that the “Earth Images” blog is meant to be about photography, and I have some proof of that.

Below you will find a bit of everything in the field of nature. I went into a few folders and just snatched and grabbed. As is often the case, while I did stick to nature, the selected images have a variety of feelings or moods. The selection includes landscapes, wildlife, an abstract, and macros. As you see, nothing is labeled. That was not just laziness, it was intentional. Sort of freestyling.

Nature photography was not just a way to make money and become known for me, it was always a way for me to interpret God’s handiwork, and then share it with the world.

Below is what I do, or rather what I did, and it is always a pleasure and a privilege to share it with others.

Food for thought.

God Bless each of you,
Wayne
