If photography can serve one purpose (I believe it can actually
serve many), it can cause us to emote. It can provoke anger, sadness,
joy, and humor. It can bring a frown or a smile to our faces.

Macro great Mike Moats, posted an image on Facebook that simply makes
me smile. Not a funny ha, ha smile, just a smile.  Sometimes there is
nothing more satisfying than a smile.

Flowers and plants are the sort of subjects that make me smile.  They can be interpreted by a photographer in many different ways. Notice that this image is made from the bottom up. The subject is upside down.
