We are on the cusp of a brand new year.  I mentioned in my Christmas issue that New Years Eve or Day, is not a favorite holiday of mine.  I have nothing against NYs, it is just not special to me.  All the same I have had some fun New Years Eves, and I have spent more than a few nice New Years Days. Often making nature photos.  My favorite New Years was several years ago when I spent New Years Eve day, on the Mississippi River photographing Bald Eagles.  I made it home before midnight and went to bed and slept through the magic hour. The next morning I got up and headed to a local state park for more nature photography.  There are many ways to bring in the new year.

There are more than a few locations around the world who bring in the new year with a display of fireworks.
