2012 Photography (mine) In Review

The pictures

The year is not over yet, but I am never sure if and when more pix will be made….so….

I made fewer pictures in 2012 than anytime since 1970. I began serious photography in 1971.  Most of the 2012 images are of birds, and not too many species at that. There are some good images, and many average ones. The images I have chosen are a fair sampling of those that I have published this year.

Special times are as much in our heart and soul as they are a part of the exterior world, and there were indeed special moments that came with some of the pictures below.  The stormy sunrise and the American Kestrel meant things that I am absent the words to describe.  My return to Bong State Rec. Area after an absence of a few years was important to me. During my photographic life I have made more pictures there than any single location.

In keeping with my life as a photographer, there are images from the wildlife, landscape, and macro categories.  They are in order by the month and day they were created.

I may still make a few more pictures, but if I don’t….I am okay.

Two final observations on Tuesday’s election.

The funniest part of the evening was seeing ABC’s Dianne Sawyer seemingly drunk with celebration. She was seriously slurring her words and positively giddy.

I can see the new ad campaign by the department of tourism for my former home of Colorado.  The late John Denver’s Colorado Rocky Mountain High will undoubtedly be the theme song.  The campaign will certainly be sponsored by Doritos or Hostess Cup Cakes.   I was in my twenties when I lived there.  I am always either too late….or too early.  Just kidding.
