Nice shots, I particularly liked the composition on the Green Darner. The blue on their faces makes them one of my favorites.

Thank you Cindy. I am forever confused with these guys. The body was gray and not green or blue. Made me think it was something else. That’s why I didn’t label the butterflies.

It’s not just you, they are confusing to me too:) I recognized it because the face is so distinctive and the thorax also matched. Both the males and females have the green thorax. The juvenile male’s abdomen is a brick red which turns blue starting at the top as it matures. The female’s abdomen is a mauve to gray which matches your description. Great detail on these shots.
