Every once in a while I feel it is important for me to explain myself and the purpose of my writings to any new readers of this blog. You are of course large in number. After this I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale.
Way back when I stopped my business newsletter I decided to no longer make humor a primary purpose of any of my future writings The truth is that I still throw a bit of the funny stuff into my posts. My humor is often tongue in cheek, or outright sarcastic. This means that I am frequently writing to entertain myself. In other words it is often hard to discover the humor in any given sentence that I write. So why do I do it? Well I need a good laugh as much as the next guy. If you just can’t find the humor, I’d help you, but sometimes I forget where I put it.
When I write about subjects like pop culture or politics, I usually scold everybody. I try to create anger everywhere. I feel it is therapeutic for the readers. It is like a liberal listening to conservative talk radio or watching Fox News or a conservative watching the nightly news on any local or national broadcast in the world. I am here just for you to release your pent-up frustrations.
When I write about nature photography it all about showing you how much I know. I have superior knowledge of the subject and it is my job to make sure that you are aware of it. Sarcasm? Tongue in cheek? Not at all.
So as you read the thousands of posts to come, I hope you consider the seriousness of this very important job. I am also available for wedding receptions and Bar Mitzvahs.
Pardon the picture below. I have tens of thousands of images with wild animals that have their tongue in their cheek, but unfortunately that is quite normal and doesn’t make the point.
