I was reminiscing the other day about the many outdoor adventures I have had. Some of them happened when I was a child with a curious mind, but most came as an adult nature photographer with a desire to wander. The vast majority of my adventures were actually just me getting lost. I have been lost over night in the north woods, and well into the night in the Arizona desert. Those examples are just the highlight reel. I realize that many of my adventures could have been avoided with today’s cell phone/GPS technology. It would have certainly saved me some angst. It would have also saved a lot of people the agony of hearing my stories over and over again. Still, in reflection I would rather have had the adventures, and the stories that go with them. Don’t get me wrong technology is great but something is lost when something is gained.
Speaking of technology. Do to issues (again, again, again) with this blog, my pictures no longer land where I send them via the cursor. Therefore I can no longer write some text to label an image and place that image wherever I want. At least until they “work” on the technology again. I will put today’s pictures in a different post. To do this I will have to put them in the reverse order of how I want them, and then write text in the reverse order of the pictures. I will write that text not above or below the pictures, but in a separate location on the post. If you understand all of that you are indeed better at tech than I am. The good news is that this will likely be different tomorrow.
