ARCTIC SUNRISE?
I’m afraid not. Lake Michigan does however deliver to us, an abundant supply of special winter moments.
The remaining images are “for the birds”.
As usual I try to make sure I do not leave the ladies out when making waterfowl and song bird images. This is a female Red-breasted Merganser.

Throughout much of North America, sights like the one below have always been proof that spring is here.
For many years now I have been trying to usher my readers & viewers to Best Friends http://www.bestfriends.org/ for abused and neglected domestic animals, as well as wildlife rehab. This place works miracles and needs all of our support.
I spend too little time mentioning the national travesty of abused and neglected children. Child Help http://www.childhelp.org/ is one such place that deals admirably with this horrible issue.
Let us move on to the more pleasant subject of spring. For those of you living in most of North America and much of Europe the time of re-birth is slowly arriving. In fact even in the far north each and every day brings a new bird or other sign. As waterways thaw, the movement of water birds will speed up. Longer days and warmer weather will bring flowers and other small jewels.
I always believed in copying spring. Let it be my re-birth as well. Spring can once again produce the curious child that we all have inside. For all of you photographers this is an exhausting yet satisfying time of year. I would often work from dawn until dusk back when I still had my cameras clicking.
Savor and remember each of the special moments that you will encounter on your upcoming journey through spring.
