Worth Fighting For?
These images are of male Ring-necked Pheasants fighting for the courtship rights of a female not shown. They are part of a 40 image sequence and were the very first pictures I ever produced with a digital camera. Digital ignorance guided me to set my image quality to the smallest most basic jpg available. Thankfully I continued to shoot slides for quite a while as I learned about digital photography. As an aside neither of these guys won as the female flew off with another male while they fought. Pheasants are a lot like people.
